Charleston County Water Parks Open Daily From June | Community news
The Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) is opening its three water parks – Splash Island in Mount Pleasant, Splash Zone on James Island, and Whirlin ‘Waters in North Charleston for daily use starting in June.
The three water parks will start their activities at a limited capacity. Staff will promote social distancing in parks and various sanitation protocols will be in place.
Customers will be required to wear masks indoors or when interacting with staff.
Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Splash Island Water Park offers fun for toddlers and tweens alike.
Attractions include a 200-foot-long body channel, activity pool, 16-foot-long otter slide, The Cyclone swirling water ride, sprays, geysers, waterfalls and more.
Whirlin ‘Waters Adventure Water Park is located in North Charleston Wannamaker County Park and is the largest of three water parks owned by CCPRC.
Whirlin ‘Waters offers unique activities for all ages with attractions such as The Washout 60ft multi-person slide, Big Splash Tree House, Lazy Rollin’ River, Big Kahuna Wave Pool, Tubular Twister slides, the Rip Tide Run carpet runner slide and the Otter Bay kiddie area.
The Splash Zone Water Park, located in James Island County Park, features two 200-foot-long slides, a large leisure pool, a 500-foot-long lazy river, and a family-friendly play complex called The Rainforest.
Water parks offer a full range of amenities, including concessions, lockers to secure items, lounge chairs, showers, and toilets. Each water park is staffed with certified lifeguards. Park admission fees vary. Splash Passes provide unlimited access to the water park all season long and are available for sale at CharlestonCountyParks.com.
