Colorado man arrested after chase from West Virginia to Ohio | News, Sports, Jobs
WHEELING – A Colorado man faces multiple charges following a law enforcement chase that begins in West Virginia and ends in Ohio.
Jonathan Perry, of no available age, of Colorado Springs, Colorado has been charged by officers with child endangerment, non-compliance, having an open alcohol container in the car and not having a license To drive. He is also wanted on a felony warrant outside Colorado, according to Sgt. Scott Bayless from the St. Clairsville Station of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
The chase began at 9:50 a.m. Friday when an Ohio County Sheriff’s Department deputy attempted to stop Perry’s vehicle for an alleged traffic violation on Interstate 470 west.
Perry’s car continued into Ohio and exited on Ohio 7 South toward Bellaire.
“It didn’t last long” Bayless said. “He got to kilometer 10 and it ended when he was locked up by Bellaire and Shadyside (police officers).
“He was taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries and no damage. “
Four minors and an additional adult were passengers in the vehicle, according to Bayless. He said the parents of all the minors have been contacted to come and pick them up.
Law enforcement agencies involved included the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, the Bellaire, Bridgeport and Shadyside Police Departments, and the Ohio Highway Patrol.
