Cumberland County MPs: Molotov cocktails thrown at two churches

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, North Carolina (WTVD) – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday evening that it has arrested the suspect suspected of being responsible for throwing Molotov cocktails at two churches in the weekend course.

The two churches targeted on Sunday were Grays Creek Church and New Calvary Missionary.

Security cameras captured the suspect’s vehicle at both locations – a gray 4-door car with tinted windows.

The sheriff’s office said Terry Wayne Raeford, 57, of Fayetteville, was arrested and charged with two counts of manufacturing, assembling, possessing, storing, transporting, selling, purchasing , delivery or acquisition of weapons of mass death and destruction, and two counts. malicious damage to occupied property through the use of explosives or incendiaries;

Raeford is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a guaranteed bond of $200,000 and is scheduled to appear in court for the first time on Tuesday.

The sheriff’s office said Raeford is “fully cooperating with the investigation.”
