On May 7, acclaimed comedian Anthony Rodia headlined The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island to a huge influx of fans. He performed two consecutive sold-out stand-up comedy shows.
“It’s amazing,” he exclaimed of The Paramount. “It feels really good, I’m a little shocked.”
Goumba Johnny served as his exceptional opening act, which was able to heat up the Rodia stage with his jokes about family, his wife, and being Italian-American in New York.
Rodia’s daughter Gabriella introduced you on stage, and The Paramount audience went nuts, in the best possible way. He really engaged the crowd by telling jokes about his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic that were witty and relevant (especially his airplane jokes), and he continued to poke fun at his wife. , her daughter and her Italian immigrant father, as well as being Italian-American in New York.
A first-generation Italian-American born and raised in Westchester, New York, Rodia emerged from the womb making people laugh. In his twenties, he tried a few open mics, but eventually took a different career path as the CFO of a luxury car dealership.

With the onset of quarantine, Anthony made the most of a captive audience, releasing a staggering 86 weekly videos. “Road Rage Wednesday” became a fan favorite, but its characters Uncle Vinny and Zia Lucia turned into a phenomenon. They’re the crazy uncle and aunt you love but can’t date in public, speaking their minds (whether you ask or not).
