Watch Now: Board Approves Ricciardi to Charleston Library Board of Trustees | Local
CHARLESTON – Charleston City Council on Tuesday approved street closures and a library board appointment.
Greg Ricciardi will serve a three-year term on the nine-member board, which oversees the Charleston Carnegie Public Library.
“Anytime anyone wishes to volunteer for this advice, we are extremely grateful to them,” said Mayor Brandon Combs.
The city has more than a dozen boards and commissions, and it is often difficult to fill the positions, he said. Anyone interested should contact his office, Combs said.
“I appreciate the people who are willing to do it,” he said.
Council also approved the closure of Seventh Street between Monroe and Madison avenues from 4 pm to 10 pm Friday; August 5, 20 and 28; and September 3, 10 and 18 for outdoor concerts.
Charleston City Council meets every first and third Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall at 520 Jackson Avenue. The next meeting is August 3.
