West Virginia Colleges Announce 2021-2022 Academic Calendars WV News
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) – As the 2021 spring semester ends in a few weeks, colleges and universities across the region are starting to release 2021-22 academic calendars.
West Virginia University has released its 2021-22 Academic Calendar, which shows returning students in August and classes starting August 18.
Students will have a fall break from October 7-10 and a Thanksgiving break from November 20-28.
Also in the fall semester 2021, the last day of classes will be December 9, with finals December 13-17 and December 18.
Students will return for the spring semester in January, with classes starting January 10.
School break will take place from March 12 to 20 and the last day of classes of the year will be April 29.
According to the schedule, the start of spring 2022 will be May 13-15.
West Virginia Wesleyan College also announced the new academic calendar on Thursday morning, with students scheduled to start classes on August 23.
“The 2021-2022 Academic Calendar is designed to provide high quality in-person learning that prepares West Virginia Wesleyan students for a prosperous future,” said Dr. James Moore, WVWC vice president of academic affairs and dean of the faculty. “We are working to ensure the best possible learning environment and look forward to the arrival of students on campus. We will continue to monitor the situation around the COVID-19 pandemic. “
According to the schedule, a new orientation of the students will take place on August 21 and on the same day, the university residences will open for students returning at 2 p.m.
Student registration will take place on August 22, followed by the first day of classes on August 23.
Other important dates include Return Home Weekend October 8-9, Fall Vacation October 14-17, Thanksgiving Break November 19-28, Residence closures for non-students. graduates on May 4 and early May 7.
While progress has been made to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, through vaccination of individuals and other measures, WVWC will once again implement a robust campus arrival plan, which will outline key guidelines health center on campus, officials said.
The college will also continue to share information on an ongoing basis to prepare and support students, faculty and staff for in-person teaching for the 2021-2022 academic year, officials added.
